During a college hiatus, Peters began his career as a developer, general contractor and manager of commercial buildings in the mid-cities and Haltom City areas of greater Fort Worth.  Entering Texas Christian University (TCU) in 1978, he completed his bachelor’s degree in Finance with a real estate concentration in 1980.  Having already developed a strong work ethic, Peters attended college year-round including night and summer classes to secure his degree.

Seizing an opportunity to work in the oil and gas industry, Peters joined Western Production Co. (WPC) in 1982 as a production manager and by 1986 was president of the company.  In 2006, Peters formed Corinth Land Co. as an affiliate of WPC to acquire drill sites in the Barnett Shale play. A sale of its urban oil and gas acreage in 2007 created the opportunity for the company to further enlarge its producing assets with additional acquisitions.  The company closed on the sale of its holdings in 2016.

This sale gave Peters the opportunity to return to his first business love; North Texas real estate. As president of Corinth Land Co., he’s working to expand Corinth Land Co.’s North Texas commercial real estate holdings one investment at a time.
